Chap. 474.—An ACT to amend section one of an act entitled an act
to authorize the mayor and common council of the town of Chatham,
in the county of Pittsylvania, to borrow money, approved the 18th
January, 1888.
of January, eighteen hundred and eighty-eight, be amended
and re-enacted so as to read as follows:

§1. Beit enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the mayor and common council of the town of Chatham, be
and they are hereby authorized and empowered to borrow
for said corporation, and for the purpose of bringing water
to and establishing water-works in said town, a sum of money
not exceeding seven thousand dollars, by the issue and sale
of the bonds of said corporation, as hereinafter provided.

2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
