county, has in his hands various tickets for taxes amounting
to a large amount paid by him and uncollected as yet; and
whereas one of his former deputies failed for two thousand
five hundred and forty dollars in the year eighteen hundred
and eighty-three, and yet the said Tilman, without being

authority is hereby given the auditor of public accounts to
extend, in his discretion, the time for a final settlement with
him by said Tilman for a period not exceeding one year, and
upon such teams and conditions as may be deemed necessary
and proper by said auditor of public accounts. But this act.
shall be inoperative until all the sureties on the bond of said |
treasurer, which cover the transactions which are the subject
of this act, shall have filed with the auditor of public accounts
their written consent to the provisions of this act: and pro-
vided further, that this act shall not apply to any sums
which are due from said treasurer on account of the sale or
redemption of delinquent lands.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
