Chap. 443.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 4219, chapter 205,
Code of Virginia, edition of 1887, in regard to criminal proceedings
against convicts.
Approved March 6, 1888.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
section forty-two hundred and nineteen of chapter two hun-
dred and five, Code of Virginia, edition of eighteen hundred
a. eighty-seven, be amended and re-enacted so as to read as

mond: provided, that when convicts are employed upon any
work of public or private improvement in any county in the
state, the criminal proceedings shall be in the county court
of the county in which the convict is so employed.
2. This act shall be in force from and after the first day of
May, eighteen hundred and eighty-eight.
