Chap. 403.—An ACT to incorporate the Rockbridge Fair company.
Approved March 5, 1888.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
W. B. F. Leech, J. D. H. Ross, Tate Sterrett, C. W. Irvine,
Samuel J. Graham, McSterrett, W. F. Pierson, Ed-
mund Pendleton, A. T. Barclay, Jacob Fuller, and their asso-
ciates and successors, are hereby created a body politic and
e corporate under the name and style of the Rockbridge Fair
company, by which name the said company may sue and be
sued, implead and be impleaded, exhibit a fair or exhibition
of the agricultural and mechanical products and fabrics, and
of the live stock of the country, hold such property aud do
such acts as may be necessary and proper for the purposes of
the company, and be entitled to the general powers and privi-
leges of a corporation under the general law of the common-
wealth applicable thereto.
2. The said company may acquire the property, rights, and
rivileges of the exhibiting association, known as the Rock-
braze county fair, upon such terms as may be agreed upon
between the said company and said association, and may pay
for the property so acquired, in shares of the company hereby
incorporated, fully paid up, and may acquire and hold land
and other property necessary for its purposes, not exceeding
one hundred acres of land, and the property of said company
shall be exempt from taxation. .
3. The capital stock of said company shall not be less than
two thousand nor more than twenty thousand dollars, divided
into shares of not less than ten nor more than one hundred
dollars each.
4. This act shall be in force from its passage.
