Chap. 359.—An ACT to authorize the loan of muskets to the Lofty
Retreat Male Academy.
Approved March 2, 1888.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the adjutant-general be and he is hereby authorized and di-
rected to furnish to the principal of the Lofty Retreat male
academy twenty-five muskets belonging to the state for the
use of the scholars of said institution; but the said adjutant-
general shall not issue said muskets until the principal of said
academy shall execute and file in the office of the adjutant-
general a bond, with sufficient security in such amount as the
adjutant-general shall prescribe, conditioned for the return of
said muskets whenever the same shall be required by the
authorities of the state.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
