Chap. 354.—An ACT to amend and re-enact sections 2 and 3 of an act
to incorporate the Fauquier Telephone company.
Approved March 2, 1888.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the second section of the act approved on the first day of
March, eighteen hundred and eighty-six, entitled an act to
incorporate the Fauquier telephone company, and the amend-
ments thereto, approved May the sixth, eighteen hundred
and eighty-seven, and section three of said act be amended
and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
§ 2. The said corporation shall have authority to acquire,
erect, and maintain telephone and telegraph lines and offices
in the counties of Fauquier, Culpeper, Rappahannock, Orange,
Madison, Green, Albemarle, Spotsylvania, and elsewhere in
the state, and conduct a general telephone or telegraph busi-
ness, or both a telephone and telegraph business as the cor-
poration may from time to time determine upon, and may
erect and maintain its lines along the public highways of said
counties, but not to obstruct the same.
§3. The capital stock of said company shall be not less
than five hundred nor more than twenty-five thousand dol-
lars, to be divided into shares of ten dollars each.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
