Chap. 334.—An ACT to provide for a new registration in the county
of Loudoun.
Approved March 1, 1888.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
it shall be lawful for the electoral board of Loudoun county,
if a majority of the members of the board shall so determine,
to order, during the year eighteen hundred and eighty-eight,
anew registration of the qualified voters in said county, or
any of the districts of said county, at such time as it may
designate.
2. That each of the registrars of the several election pre-
cincts of the said county or district, shall, on the day to be
designated by the electoral board, proceed to register the
names of all the qualified voters of his precinct, who reside
therein and according to law entitled to registration, giving
notice of the time and place thereof, for at least ten days
before commencing such registration, by posting a notice
thereof at not less than five public places within his precinct.
Said registrars shall complete said registration within six
days from the time of commencing the same, and shall set
between sunrise and sunset of each day, and in the discretion
of the registrar he may sit at three places in the precinct,
and immediately after completing the said registration, shall
cause to be posted at three or more public places in their
respective precincts, lists of all persons admitted by them to
registration. Said registrars shall in every other respect be
subject to, and governed by, the general laws of the state in
regard to the registration of voters, and the registration
made under this act shall take the place of all registrations
heretofore made in said county or district aforesaid.
3. The secretary of the commonwealth shall furnish the
clerk of the county court of Loudoun county with so many
registration books as may be necessary to carry out the pro-
visions of this act.
4. This act shall be in force from its passage.
