Chap. 3.—An ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of Loudoun
county to borrow money to build a jail.
Approved January 6, 1888,
1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That
the board of supervisors of Loudoun county be and they are
hereby authorized and empowered, at any meeting at which
a majority of said board shall be present, to issue bonds (cou-
pons or otherwise, in their discretion), in the name of Lou-
doun county, for a sum not excceding ten thousand dollars
in the aggregate, the proceeds thereof to be used in building
a county jail in said county. The said bonds issued in pur-
suance of this act shall be for five hundred dollars each, and
shall be payable at such times and in such instalments as the
said hoard is supervisors of said county.,shall deem expedi-

ent. All of said bonds shall bear interest payable ata rate |
not exceeding six per centum per annum, and shall be signed ;
by the president or chairman of said board of supervisors,
be-attested by the clerk of the county court of Loudoun,
and have the seal of the said court affixed thereto.
2. The debts contracted and evidenced by said bonds shall
be levied for by the board of supervisors upon such subjects
as are now or may be liable for the county levy, for the pay-
ment of both principal and interest thereof as the same shall
fall due; and the faith of the county shall also be pledged to }
such payment.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage. (
