Chap. 288.—An ACT declaring the James river, the main track of the
Richmond and Alleghany railroad, and the boundary lines of the
farms within certain limits in the county of Amherst, a lawful fence.
Approved February 29, 1888.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
so much of the James river (including both branches thereof
where it forms an island) as extends from Allen’s creek to
Joshua falls dam, in the county of Amherst, and the main
track of the Richmond and Alleghany railroad within said
limits, and the boundary lines of the farms lying along said
river and railroad within the aforesaid limits, said boundary
lines extending from said railroad track to said river, and the
boundary line or lines on or across any island in said river
within the aforesaid limits, be and the same are hereby de-
elared a lawful fence.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
