Chap. 235.—AnJACT to incorporate the Oakwood Hebrew cemetery
association.
Approved February 24, 1888.
1. Be it enacted by the penne assembly of Virginia, That
Moses Meyer, Philip Hirshburg, Keeve Jacobs, Harris Jacobs,
N. Greenwald, Samuel Jacobs, A. Hirshburg, A. M. Meyer,
H. E. Hirshburg, and their successors in office, be and are
hereby constituted a body corporate and politic to be known
as the Oakwood Hebrew cemetery association, by which
name and style they shall and may have a perpetual succes-
sion and a common seal, may sue and be sued, plead and be
impleaded, contract and be contracted with at all times.
2. The said cemetery association shall have the power, right
and authority to buy and to hold real estate, in or near the
city of Richmond, not exceeding ten acres of land, to be used
for a burying ground and cemetery, and for that purpose
may lay off the same in lots and sub-divisions suitable for
graves, and may improve or ornament the same.
3. The officers of said association shall consist of a presi-
dent, treasurer, secretary and a board of directors, who shall
have authority to enact by-laws for their government, not
qcoenistent with the laws of this state or of the United
tates.
4. This act shall be in force from its passage.
