Chap. 187.—An ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of Essex
to rescind an order in relation to working public roads.
Approved February 23, 1888.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That:
the board of supervisors of Essex county be authorized and ‘
empowered (when in their opinion it will be to the interest
of said county) to repeal and rescind its order entered on the
eleventh day of August, eighteen hundred and eighty-six,
adopting the road law approved March eighth, eighteen hun-
dred and eighty-four, for Essex county; and said board of
supervisors are hereby authorized and empowered to adopt
the road law approved March twentieth, eighteen hundred
and seventy-five, or any other law for the working of public
roads in Essex county in lieu thereof.
2. Be it further enacted, That the said board of supervisors
are hereby authorized and empowered to expend the amount ‘
of levies already made pursuant to the act of eighth March,
eighteen hundred and eighty-four, in the payment of any
claims by account chargeable against the county of Essex.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage. (
