Chap. 186.—An ACT to authorize a special district school tax in Au-
burn school district of the county of Montgomery.
Approved February 23, 1888,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
it shall be lawful for the board of supervisors of the county
of Montgomery, at any regular meeting, to levy a special dis-
trict school tax on the same subjects of taxation as are in-
cluded in the regular annual levies, to be collected as other
county levies, for the purpose of rebuilding and furnishing
two school-houses recently destroyed by fire: provided that
such special levy shall not exceed the rate of ten cents on one
hundred dollars of the assessed value of real and personal
property in any year: and provided further, that any surplus,
after paying for building and furnishing said houses, shall be-
long to the general district school fund of said district.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
