Chap. 140.—An ACT to incorporate the Star of Bethlehem Order of
Galilean Fishermen.
Approved February 14, 1888.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
Charles F. Levenberry, Charles A. Brown, Lewis Hill,
Matthew Harvey, George Lee, Richard Clarke, Burr Rhodes,
William G. Tutman, Basil B. Bryant, Julius Cesar Arch,
Allen and Alfred Grigsby, and their successors, be and they

rate by the name and style of the trustees of the Star of
Bethlehem Tabernacle, number twenty-eight of the Grand
United Order of Galilean Fishermen of Loudoun county, and
by that name shall have perpetual succession and a common
seal, may contract and be contracted with, sue and be sued,
may acquire, hold, and enjoy, may rent, sell, convey, invest,
and otherwise manage, as to them may seem most conducive
to the promotion of the interests of said benevolent order, all
lands, money, and other property, real and personal which
they may have or may acquire: provided said property shall
not exceed in value five thousand dollars nor more than one-
half acre of land.
2. The said corporation shall have power to make and
adopt a constitution and by-laws, rules and regulations for
the government of said organization, to provide for the elec-
tion of their officers and their removal, and to define their
duties, and for the safekeeping of its funds; and to alter or
repeal the constitution and by-laws from time to time: pro-
vided the same be not inconsistent with the constitution of
the United States or the constitution and laws of Virginia.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
