Chap. 135.—An ACT to ingor porate the Gordonsville and Sperryville
Telephone company.
Approved February 14, 1888.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
C. F. Myers, A. R. Rosenberger, S. P. Shirley, H. H. Spindle
and C. W. Rosenberger, or such of them as may accept the
provisions of this act, and such persons as may be associated
with them, shall be and they are hereby constituted a body
politic and corporate by the name of the Gordonsville and
perryville Telephone company; and by that name shall have
all the powers, rights, and franchises necessary and proper to
locate, construct, and maintain a telephone line from Gor-
donsville to Sperryville by way of Madison Courthouse and
Criglersville, along the line of the Blue Ridge turnpike to
Criglersville, and from that point to Sperryville by such route
as they may select on any public road, and to establish
stations at any point deemed necessary between the aforesaid
laces. :
P 2. The stock of the said corporation shall consist of not
more than three hundred shares at a value to be fixed by the
incorporators, payable at such time as the board of directors
may prescribe.
3. There shall be a meeting of the said corporation at such
a place and on such day after the passage of this act as the
above-named persons or a majority of them shall appoint, for
the purpose of choosing such officers as they may deem
proper to manage the affairs of the said corporation for one
year thereafter, and until a new election shall take place, and
their successors are qualified.
4, The said corporation shall have the power to make a
reasonable charge for the use of their line.
5. This act shall be in force from its passage.
