Chap. 89.—An ACT authorizing payment of the amount due the city
of Richmond for gas used in the public buildings of the state.
Approved February 8, 1886.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the auditor of public accounts is hereby authorized to issue his
warrant on the treasurer for the payment of the following bills
due the city of Richmond, for gas used in the public buildings
of the state, when said bills shall be approved by the register
of the land office: —
First. For lighting capitol ‘building, from April twentieth,
eighteen hundred and eighty-three, to April twentieth, eighteen
hundred and eighty-five, the sum of sixteen hundred and sixty
dollars and fifty cents. }
Second. For lighting the governor’s mansion, from April
twentieth, eighteen hundred and eighty-three, to April twen-
tieth, eighteen hundred and eighty-five, the sum of four hun-
dred and thirty-three dollars and ninety-five cents.
Third. The auditor of public accounts is hereby directed to
issue hereafter his warrant on the treasurer, payable quarterly,
in favor of the city of Richmond, payable out of any money
in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, for gas used in the
public buildings, when said bills are approved by the register
of the land office.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
