Chap. 67.—An ACT to authorize the Treasurer to adjust the claims of
the Commonwealth against the sureties of the Planters and Me-
chanics Bank of Petersburg.

Approved February 4, 1886.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the treasurer of the commonwealth, with the advice of the
counsel retained by him, and with the approval of the chair-
man of the finance committee of the house of delegates, and
the chairman of the finance committee of the senate, may
make with all or any of the sureties of the Planters and Me-
chanics Bank of Petersburg, such settlement of the claim or
claims of the commonwealth against them, respectively, as he
may deem best for the interest of the state.

2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
