Chap. 468.—An ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of Fred-
erick county, to order a special election upon the question of build-
ing a house in Opequon magisterial district, for the purpose of hold-
ing magisterial courts.
Approved March 6, 1886.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly. of Virginia, That
the board of supervisors of the county of Frederick, may order
a vote to be taken upon the question of building a house in
Opequon magisterial district, in which to hold magisterial
courts. Said election, if ordered, shall be held at the regular
spring election, in May, eighteen hundred and eighty-six. The
manner of conducting the election shall be same as now pre-
scribed by law for state and county elections. The ballots shall
be as follows: for the building; against the building. The
manner of canvassing the vote and making return, shall be as
prescribed by law, except that the certificates of judges shall
be as follows:
We certify, that at the special election held in Opequon ma-
gisterial district, on the day of May, eighteen hundred
and eighty-six, votes were cast for the building, and
votes were cast against the building. ©

2. The said election shall be in Opequon magisterial district
of said county only; and should the return of votes cast at such
election show that a majority of the qualified voters of said dis-
trict have voted for the building, then it shall be the duty of the
said board of supervisors in said county, to levy a tax upon
the property of said district, which is assessed with state taxes
and county levies, sufficient to erect said building. Said board
of supervisors may make such other arrangements for the con-
struction, erection and location of said building as they may
deem proper. ,
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
