Chap. 400.—An ACT to provide compensation to Waller R. Staples
for services rendered the Commonwealth as counsel in the case of
Marye vs. Parsons, &c.
Approved March 3, 1886.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the auditor of public accounts be and he is hereby authorized
and directed to draw his warrant upon the treasury for the sum
of twelve hundred and fifty dollars, payable out of any money
in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, in favor of Waller
R. Staples, as compensation for services as counsel in behalf of
the state in the case of Marye versus Parsons, and in the cou-
on cases of Poindexter versus Greenhow, White versus Green-
ow, Chaffin versus Taylor, Allen versus Baltimore and Ohio
railroad, Carter versus Greenhow, Pleasants versus Greenhow,
and Moore versus Greenhow; which cases were argued by him
in the supreme court of the United States.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
