Chap. 38.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section.2 of chapter 159 of
the Code of 1873, relating to clerks of the courts of appeals.
Approved January 21, 1836.
1. Be it enacted by the general. assembly of Virginia, That
section two of chapter one hundred and fifty-nine of the Code
of eighteen hundred and seventy-three be amended and re-
enacted, so as to read as follows:
§2. There shall be three clerks of the court of appeals: one
for the said court at Richmond, one for the court at Staunton,
and one for the court at Wytheville. The term of office of each
of these clerks shall. be six years. The clerks of the court of
appeals shall not practice as attorneys at law, or counsel
in any actions at law, suits in chancery, or other proceedings
in the courts of this commonwealth which may be pending
in the court of appeals, or which may be carried by appeal,
or otherwise, to the said court during their term of office.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
