CHAP. 320.—An ACT to provide for a new assessment of the real es-
tate of Tanner’s Creek magisterial district of Norfolk.
Approved March 1, 1886.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of: Virginia, That
as soon as may be, after the passage of this act, a new assess-
ment of the real estate lying in Tanner’s creek magisterial dis-
trict of Norfolk county, shall be made. The assessors shall be
appointed in the manner provided by section one of chapter
one hundred and sixteen of the Acts of eighteen hundred and
eighty-four; and the assessment shall be made and governed
by the provisions of said act. Said new assessment shall be
substituted for the assessment made pursuant to said above re-
cited act, so far as it concerns said magisterial district, and shall
remain in force until another assessment shall be made pursu-
ant to law. The commissioner of the revenue for the first reve-
nue district of said Norfolk county, shall not proceed to pre-
pare the land book for said Tanner’s creek district until said
new assessment shall have been completed, and shall be entitled
to thirty days thereafter in which to prepare said land book.
Said. assessment shall be completed within sixty days after the
appointment of the assessor. |
2. The expenses of said re-assessment shall be paid out of
the county levy of Norfolk county.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
