Chap. 308.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 3 of an act ap-
proved March 9g, 1880, as amended by an act approved March 18,
1884, in relation to wild game.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
section three of an act approved March ninth, eighteen hundred
and eighty, as amended by an act approved March eighteenth,
eighteen hundred and eighty-four, be amended and re-enacted,
so as to read as follows:
§ 3. The board of supervisors of each county, at their July
annual meeting, may at their discretion award a premium, not
exceeding ten dollars, for each wolf scalp, one dollar and fifty
cents for each scalp of wild cat, catamount or red fox: (pro-
vided, that for Rockbridge county, the premium for grey and
red fox scalps shall be fifty cents each); seventy-five cents for
each scalp of grey fox; and fifty cents for each scalp of chicken-
hawk, mink or weasel, or owl, except screech owl, upon satis-
factory evidence that the same were respectively killed within
the limits of the county, and by the person in whose behalf the
same may be presented, to be paid on warrant of said board on
the county treasurer: provided, however, that the board of su-
pervisors of Augusta county shall pay a premium of ten dol-
lars for each wolf scalp of a full grown wolf, and fifty cents for
each scalp of a full grown wild cat, catamount or fox; and in
all cases half-price for the scalps of each of the young thereof:
and provided, further, that nothing in this act shall apply to
the counties of Fauquier, Grayson and Loudon.
2. All acts and parts of acts in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
