Chap. 229.—An ACT to incorporate James Needham Lodge, No.
1,468, Grand United Order of Odd Fellows.
Approved February 26, 1886.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
John D. Booker, Edw. Cox, Wm. Custalo, Richard Carter,
Thomas Nelson, Isaac Dammalls, Morton Deane, Geo. God-
win, James T. Hill, H. R. Machlin, Edw. Norris, Cornelius
Payne, H. D. Paul, and such other persons as are now associ-
ated or may hereafter become associated with them, be and are
hereby constituted a body corporate, by the name of the James
Needham Lodge, number one thousand four hundred and
sixty-eight, of the Grand United Order of Odd Fellows, to be
located in the city of Richmond, Virginia, for the purpose ot
promoting social intercourse, aiding the sick, burying the dead,
and assisting the widows and orphans of its deceased members
2. The said corporation shall have power to make and adopt
a constitution and by-laws, rules and regulations, for the ad.
mission and expulsion of its members, and their government,
the election of its officers, and to define their duties, and fo:
the safe-keeping and protection of its property and funds, anc
from time to time to alter or repeal such constitution, by-laws
rules and regulations: provided, that the same be not inconsis.
tent with the constitution and laws of the United States, or o
the state of Virginia.
3. The said corporation may purchase, and hold or lease any
real or personal estate: provided, that they shall not hold any
real estate exceeding one acre of land, nor more than ten thou.
sand dollars’ worth of real estate.
4. This act shall be in force from its passage, and shall be
subject to amendment, alteration or modification, at the pleasure
of the general assembly,
