Chap. 213.—An ACT to refund to A. R. Green, treasurer of Halifax
county, the amount of costs paid by him in a suit resisting the pay-
ment of coupons for state taxes.
Approved February 24, 1886.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
A. R. Green, treasurer of the county of Halifax, be paid the
sum of one hundred and five dollars and three cents, that being
the amount of the costs decreed against him as treasurer of
said county, and his own costs, incurred by him in resisting
the claim of J. V. Brooks, trustee, and so forth, to the right to
pay the state revenue in coupons, in a suit decided in the
United States circuit court for.the western district of Virginia,
at Danville, under the style of A. R. Green, treasurer, versus
the State Bank of Virginia, and J. V. Brooks, trustee, and so
forth, the court having decreed that said treasurer should re-
ceive said coupons in payment of the state revenue due by said
Brooks, trustee, and pay the said costs. And be it further en-
acted, that J: L. McIntosh, treasurer of Loudoun county, Vir-
ginia, be paid the sum of three hundred and forty-two dollars
and sixty-one cents, being the amount of costs paid by him in
resisting certain claims to the right to pay the state revenue in
coupons, the United States court having decreed that said
treasurer should receive the coupons and pay the said costs.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
