CHAP. 203.—An ACT to authorize the Superintendent of Public: In-
struction to occupy the chapel and recitation-room of the Institu-
tion for the Deaf, Dumb and Blind, at Staunton, Virginia, for Sum-
mer Normals.
Approved February 24, 1886.
1, Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
authority be and it is hereby granted to the superintendent of
public instruction to occupy and use the public hali or chapel,
and recitation-room of the institution for the education of the
deaf and dumb, and of the blind, at Staunton, Virginia, for the
period of six weeks, if necessary, during the next regular sum-
mer vacation of said institution, for the purpose of holding
and. conducting therein the summer normal or teachers’ insti-
tute, which may assemble in said city of Staunton: provided,
that the authority hereby granted shall in no wise interfere or
conflict with the regular session of said institution: and pro-
vided further, that said institution shall be at no expense in
lighting said chapel and recitation-room, and in supplying ser-
vants’ attendance in cleaning and keeping in order the same,
during the session of said summer normal and teachers’ insti-
tute, but that every expense attending the same shall be borne
by said summer normal or teachers’ institute.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
