Chap. 190.—An ACT for the relief of the Lutheran church and con-
gregation of Madison ‘county.
Approved February 24, 1886.
Whereas the Lutheran church and congregation of Madison
county have paid taxes on their church property from the year
eighteen hundred and seventy-one to the year eighteen hundred
and eighty-two inclusive; and whereas such property was
exempt from taxation under the laws of this state:
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the auditor of public accounts of this state be and he is hereby
authorized to refund to the board of trustees of the Lutheran
church and congregation, of Madison county, all state taxes
erroneously paid by them into the state treasury.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
