Chap. 150.—An ACT to authorize the trustees of the Female Free
school of Alexandria, and of the Orphan Asylum of Alexandria,
to transfer their property, real and personal, to the Alexandria
Infirmary, and to accept the surrender of the charter of the two
first-named corporations.
Approved February 18, 1886.
Whereas by lapse of time and change of circumstances, the
usefulness of the charitable corporations known as the Trustees
of the Female Free school of Alexandria, and the Trustees of
the Orphan Asylum of Alexandria, has been greatly circum-
scribed; and the respective corporate bodies desire in further-
ance of the general object for which they were created, to
transfer their property, real and personal, in the city of Alex-
andria, to the charitable corporation known as the Alexandria
Infirmary, an institution enjoying and well deserving the ap-
proval and support of the good citizens of Alexandria; and
whereas the said Trustees of the Female Free school of Alex-
andria, and the Trustees of tne Orphan Asylum of Alexandria
desire, upon such transfer and conveyance being authorized
and made to the Alexandria Infirmary, to surrender their own
charter: therefore
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the Trus-
tees of the Female Free school of Alexandria, and the Trus-
tees of the Orphan Asylum of Alexandria, and others, are
hereby authorized to convey to the Alexandria Infirmary, all
their property, real and personal, to be held by said Alexandria
Infirmary, for the objects, uses and purposes of its incorpora-
tion, and for none other.
2. The act entitled an act to incorporate the Female Free
school of Alexandria, and the act entitled an act to incorporate
the Orphan Asylum of Alexandria, be and they are hereby
repealed—the repeal to take effect upon the execution and re-
cordation of the transfers hereinbefore authorized to be made.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
