Chap. 130.—An ACT to authorize the Board of Supervisors of
Mathews county to levy a tax for the establishment and equipment
of a ferry across from Gwynn’s island to the main land of said
county, and to provide regulations for the same.
Approved February 16, 1886.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the board of supervisors of Mathews county be and they are
hereby authorized, at the usual time of laying the county levy,
to levy upon all property taxable in said county, both real and
personal, a sum not exceeding two hundred dollars for any one
year, to be expended and used for the establishment and equip-
ment of a public ferry across Milford haven, in the said county
of Mathews, from the terminus of the public road on Horse-
block, at Cricket hill, to the terminus of the public road on
Gwynn’s island, opposite to Cricket hill, or to Narrow’s point.
2. The board of supervisors shall make all necessary rules
and regulations for the management of said ferry.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
