Chap. 105.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 17 of chapter 13
of the Code of 1873, as amended by an act to amend and re-enact
certain sections of the Code of 1873, and certain acts of assembly
amendatory thereof, and other acts of assembly in relation to sala-
ries of certain officers of the government and. their employees;
compensation of members and officers of the general assembly,
mileage and other allowances; to define the salarles of certain offi-
cers, and to repeal chapter 153 of the act of 1874, and section 27 of
chapter 16, and sections 5, 16 and 24 of chapter 13 of the Code of
1873, and all other acts or parts of acts in conflict therewith ; ap-
proved March rath, 1878.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the seventeenth section of the thirteenth chapter of the Code
of eighteen hundred and seventy-three, as amended by the act
of the general assembly of Virginia entitled an act to amend
and re-enact certain sections of the Code of eighteen hundred
and seventy-three, and certain acts of assembly amendatory
thereof, and other acts of assembly in relation to the salaries
of certain officers of the government and .their employees,
compensation of members of the general assembly, mileage,
and other allowances; to define the salaries of certain officers,
and to repeal chapter one hundred and fifty-three of the Acts
of eighteen hundred and seventy-four, and section twenty.

and twenty-four of chapter thirteen of the Code of eighteer
hundred and seventy-three, and all other acts or parts of act:
in conflict, approved March twelfth, eighteen hundred anc
seventy-eight, be amended and re-enacted so as to read a:
follows:
§17. The clerk of the court of appeals at Richmond, five
hundred dollars; and the clerks of said courts at Staunton and
Wytheville, four hundred dollars each; and the clerk of the
circuit court of the city of Richmond, four hundred dollars.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
