Chap. 10.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 2 of chapter 138 of
the Acts of Assembly, session of 1883-84 in regard to filling vacancies
in the county boards of school commissioners.
Approved January 12, 1886.
‘1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
section two of chapter one hundred and thirty-eight of the acts
of eighteen hundred and eighty-three and four be amended and
re-enacted, so as to read as Follows:
§ 2. The said board shall elect one of their number chair-
man, and another secretary; and any two shall constitute a
quorum for the transaction of business; and any vacancy occur-
ring in any of the said county school electoral boards, during
the recess of the legislature, shall be filled by appointment of
the judge of the county court of the county in which such
vacancy may occur—said appointees to hold office until their
successors are duly elected and qualified.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
