Chap. 48.—An ACT for the compensation of W. W. Wood, of Meck-
lenburg county.
Approved November 18, 1884.
1. Beit enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the auditor of public accounts be, and he is hereby authorized
and directed to issue his warrant in favor of W. W. Wood,
of Mecklenburg county, for the sum of ten dollars, payable
out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated,
and the board of supervisors of Mecklenburg county are
hereby authorized and empowered, in their discretion, to
make such further compensation, payable out of the county
levy, as they may think reasonable, for services rendered by
said W. W. Wood, it being a compensation for services ren-
dered by him at the request and by appointment of F. K.
Buford, presiding judge, as special commonwealth’s attorney
at the June term, eighteen hundred and eighty-four, of Meck-
lenburg county court, in the case of the Commonwealth
against A. S. Lee, the elected commonwealth’s attorney, R. T.
Thorp, Esquire, being so situated with regard to the case as
to make it improper for him to appear as prosecuting attorney.
2. This act shali be in force from its passage.
