Chap. 45.—An ACT to provide for the interchange of coupon bonds
and registered bunds issued under the act approved February 14, 1882,
entitled an act to ascertain and declare Virginia’s equitable share of
the debt created before and actually existing at the time of the parti-
tion of her territory and resources, and to provide for the issuance of
bonds covering the same, and for the prompt and regular payment of
the interest thereon. ,

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
at the option of the holder, coupon bonds may be exchanged
for registered bonds, and vice versa, of the bonds issued under
the act approved February fourteen, eighteen hundred and
eighty-two, entitled an act to ascertain and declare Virginia’s
equitable share of the debt created before and actually ex-
isting at the time of the partition of her territory and re-
sources, and to provide for the issuance of bonds covering the
same, and for the prompt and regular payment of interest
thereon.
2. For every bond issued under this act a fee of fifty cents
shall be paid to the second auditor, and shall, upon his order,
be covered into the treasury, to the credit of the sinking fund.
All bonds and coupons. taken in under this act shall be can-
celled according to the directions for cancelling bonds and
certificates of debt, and evidences of past due and unpaid in-
terest taken in under the provisions of the act of February
fourteenth, eighteen hundred and eighty-two, as set forth in
section eight of said act.
3. This act shall be in-force from its passage.
