Chap. 28.—JOINT RESOLUTION proposing to donate to West Vir-
ginia certain Journals of the Virginia Legislature, Reports, and other
ocuments, and to sell certain remaining volumes to public libraries.
Approved August 27, 1884.
Whereas there is in the library an accumulation of the
journals and documents of the general assembly, messages of
the executives, reports of the auditors, treasurers, and boards
of public works, which publications are of equal value to the
states of Virginia and West Virginia because of their common
pistory prior to the dismemberment.of the commonwealth ;

1. Resolved (the house of delegates concurring), That the
secretary of the commonwealth is directed to present to the
state of West Virginia a copy of each of the aforesaid publi-
cations touching the legislation of Virginia prior to the year
eighteen hundred and Sty tree: provided that not less
than five copies of each publication shall be retained in the
library for public use.
2. Phat upon the application of any public library in Vir-
ginia or West Virginia the secretary of the commonwealth
(after retaining a sufficient number of copies to comply with
the foregoing resolution) is authorized to sell either of said
pobiications to such library at the price of two dollars and
fty cents per volume.
