Chap. 195.—An ACT to empower the board of supervisors of Bath
county, to repair a part of the Warm Springs and Huntersville turn-
turnpike road.
Approved December 1, 1884.
1, Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the board of supervisors of Bath county be and it is hereby
authorized and empowered, if in the judgment of a majority
of said board it is advisable to do so, to put the turnpike road
from the Warm Springs to the West Virginia state line, being
part of the road known as the Warm Springs and Hunters-
ville turnpike road, in lawful repair, and to erect bridges
across Jackson’s river and Back creek on said road.
2. That said board is authorized and empowered to borrow
money on the credit of said county to an amount not exceed-
ing five thousand dollars, at a rate of interest not exceeding
six per centum per annum, and to levy a tax not exceeding
ten cents on the one hundred dollars value of the real and
personal property of said county and apply the same to the
purposes aforesaid.
3. That said board shall have power to charge on said road
and bridges the tolls now allowed by law until said county
is reimbursed for any expenditures made under this act, and
after that time such tolls only as will be sufficient to keep
said road in lawful repair, but not to exceed the tolls charge-
able by law.
4, This act shall be in force from its passage.
