Chap. 191.—An ACT for the relief of William H. McBride, of Gooch-
land.

Whoreas William H. McBride, of company “B,” forty-
fourth Virginia regiment, was wounded and lost his leg (am-
putated above the knee) on the twenty-fifth day of March,
eighteen hundred and sixty-five, before Petersburg, Virginia,
has received nothing from the state, of any value to him, hav-
ing only received an artificial leg, which he has been unable
to wear and is entirely worthless to him: therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the auditor of public aecounts is hereby authorized and di-
rected to draw his warrant on the treasury in favor of Wil-
liam H. McBride, for the sum of sixty dollars, to be paid out
of any moneys appropriated for the purpose of paying maimed
soldiers.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
