Chap. 182.—An ACT to provide for a register ‘of all the roperty of
the state and the public institutions of the state, real and personal,
including choses-in-action, &c. —

1. Beit enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the board of public works shall cause to be registered in a
book to be kept in the treasurer’s office, all property belong-
ing to the state, real and personal, stocks, bonds and choses-
in-action, and all claims belonging to the state, with a suitable
description of the same, to enable reference to the same by
incoming Officials and all others interested, and to protect the
property of the state from being neglected or lost in want of
acquaintance and knowledge of all the items. Also the chief
officer of every state institution shall cause to be kept a cor-
rect register of all the property of the state at his institution,
for the information of. the board of directors or visitors, as
the case may be, and others interested in the same, noting
all changes and dispositions of the same.
