Chap. 160.—An ACT to incorporate the Dunsmore commercial and
business college at Staunton, Virginia.
Approved November 29, 1884.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
J. G. Dunsmore, Mead F. White, G. G. Gooch, M. Oberdoffer,
and Hugh F. Lyle, and their associates and successors, be
and they are hereby constituted a body politic and corporate
in the name and style of the Dunsmore commercial and busi-
ness college, and by that name shall have perpetual succes-
sion and a common seal, sue and be sued, plead and be
impleaded, purchase, receive, and hold and sell, and dispose
of any property, real and personal, necessary or proper for
the use and benefit of said college, and under their common
seal, make and establish from-time to time such rules and
by-laws not contrary to the laws of Virginia for the control
and government of the professors and students thereof, and
for the conduct and maintenance of a commercial or other
college or school.
2. The president of the said college shall have power and
authority to confer upon any student or students he may
deem worthy of the same, the degree of master of accounts.
3. All rights, powers, privileges, exemptions, and immuni-
ties secured by the laws of Virginia to like colleges or insti-
tutions, are also. hereby granted to the said Dunsmore com-
mercial and business college hereby incorporated, subject in
all respects to the laws of Virginia in such case made and
provided.
4. This act shall be in force from its passage.
