Chap. 148.—An AOT for the relief of the heirs of Martha C. Ball.
Approved November 27, 1884.
Whereas the real estate of the late Martha C. Ball, of Fair-
fax county, has been in litigation since the year eighteen
hundred and sixty-five, whereby the title to said estate has
remained undetermined until the late term of the circuit
court of said county, which has decided the same in favor of
the heirs of said Martha C. Ball, twelve in number, whereby
the state and county taxes have accumulated against said real
estate, and are now delinquent; therefore,
1. Beit enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
upon the payment to the auditor of public accounts, by any
one of said heirs, of one-twelfth of the gross amount of state
and county taxes, and interest due, and delinquent against
said real estate for the years eighteen hundred and sixty-five,
eighteen hundred and seventy-two, eighteen hundred and
seventy-three, and from eighteen hundred and seventy-five to
eighteen hundred and eighty-three, inclusive, the interest or
ortion of such heir in said real estate shall be relieved of the
ien of said taxes; and the treasurer of said county is author-
ized to sell each portion of said estate separately for its pro-
portion of said taxes, in any sale of lands for delinquent
taxes to be made by him in pursuance of law.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
