Chap. 141.—An ACT to provide for a new registration of the voters in
certain precincts in the county of Surry.
Approved November 27, 1884.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the registrars at Spring Grove and the Courthouse precincts,
Surry county, be authorized and directed to make a new
registration of voters residing within the bounds of the said
precincts; and for the purpose shall sit for a period of six
days, beginning on Monday the fourth day of May, eighteen
hundred and eighty-five; and said registrars shall give notice
for at least ten days by printed notices, posted at ten places
in his said precinct, of such registration.
2. Said registration shall supersede the present registration
of voters at said precincts, and the registrars of said pre-
cincts are directed to destroy the books now in use at said
precincts.
3. The secretary of the commonwealth shall furnish the
clerk of the county court of Surry county with suitable books
to carry out the provisions of this act.
4, This act shall be in force from its passage.
