Chap. 134.—An ACT for the relief of the sureties of J. L. F. Campbell.
Approved November 27, 1884.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the auditor of public accounts be and is hereby authorized
and directed to accept from A. J. Astrop, Richard Nuckels,
John F. Sutton, E. C. Selter, B. R. Johnston, John L. Brad-
ley, John W. Johnston, Cornelius Carmack, Joseph G. Lane,
John Clark, D. Rosenbalm, HE. M. Fleenor, E. M. Campbell,
John M. Hamilton, James C. Campbell, and Joel Kaylor,
sureties of James L. F. Campbell, late sheriff of Washington
county, or the personal representatives of such of them as
are dead, upon his official bond, or any renewal thereof, the
the bonds of the state of Virginia, with all unmatured cou-
pons attached, issued under the act of February fourteenth,
eighteen hundred and eighty-two, to the amount of the bal-
ance now due, estimating according to the provisions of an
act passed June twenty-seventh, eighteen hundred and sev-
enty, and entitled an act for the relief of the sureties of
James L. F. Campbell, late sheriff of Washington county,
upon a judgment of the circuit court of the city of Richmond
on the fourteenth day of November, eighteen hundred and
sixty-seven. But nothing herein contained shall be construed
to release the estate of the said James L. F. Campbell, late
sheriff, and so forth, who has departed this life, from liability
for the full amount of the said judgment.
2. This act shall be in forco from its passage.
