Chap. 12.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 7 of an act entitled
an act for the establishment of a State Female Normal School, ap-
proved March 7, 1884.

Approved August 23, 1884.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
section seven of an act entitled an act for the establishment
of a State Female Normal school, be amended and re-enacted
so as to read as follows:

§ 7. There shall be appropriated annually out of the treas-
ury of the state, the sum of ten thousand dollars to pay inci-
dental expenses, the salaries of officers and teachers, and to
maintain the efficiency of the school: provided however, that
the commonwealth will not, in any instance be responsible
for any debt contracted, or expenditure made by the institu-
tion, in excess of the appropriation herein made.

2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
