Chap. 8.—An ACT to compensate E. P. Dandridge for services ren-
dered the state of Virginia as counsel.
Approved January 10, 1884.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the auditor of public’ accounts be, and he is hereby authorized
and directed to issue his warrant in favor of Edmund P.
Dandridge, for the sum of one thousand dollars, payable out
of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated. It
being a compensation for services rendered by him as counsel
in the defence of certain county judges of the state, who were
under indictment in the federal court of Virginia; the ser-
vices being rendered under an employment by the governor
under authority of the joint resolution, approved March third,
eighteen hundred and seventy-nine, and proper to be compen-
sated from the state treasury.
2. This act shall be in force from its passaye.
