An Act to amend and reenact § 46.1-299, as amended, of the Code of Virginia, relating to devices signalling intention to turn or stop and rules therefor.

Chap. 5.-—-An ACT giving the consent of this state to the acquisition by
the government of the United States of so much land as may be
necessary for a public building in the town of Harrisonburg.
Approved December 21, 1883.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the consent of the state of Virginia is hereby given and
ranted to the purchase, or acquisition by the government of
the United States, or under the authority of the same, of so
much land as may be required for a site for a public building
for the accommodation of the circuit and district courts of
the United States, postoffice, and other government offices at
Harrisonburg, county of Rockingham and state of Virginia.
2. That the United States shall have exclusive jurisdiction
over such land during the time the said United States shall
be or remain the owners thereof, for all purposes except the
administration of the criminal laws of the state of Virginia
and the service of civil process therein.
3. The lots, parcels, or tracts of land so acquired, together
with the buildings and appurtenances for the purposes before
mentioned, shall be held exempt from all state, county and
municipal taxation so long as the United States shall be and
remain the owners thercof.
4. This act shall be in force from its passage.
