Chap. 49.—An ACT to pay George W. Hinman, oyster inspector, the
sum of one hundred and fifty dollars per month, for the Protection of
the Oyster Interests of Accomack county, until May Ist, 1884.
In force January 28, 1884.
Whereas, the citizens of Accomack county have been, and
are now at great expense protecting the oyster interests of
their locality, and repelling invasions of depredations from
citizens of other states, in violation of the oyster laws of the
state of Virginia, and destructive of their rights as citizens;
therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars per month be paid
to George W. Hinman, oyster inspector,or his legally quali-
fied successor, for the services of himself, vessel, and crew, in
rotecting the oyster interests of said county, beginning on
december first, eighteen hundred and eighty-three, and to be
continued thereafter, until May first, eighteen hundred and
eighty-four, which amount shall be paid by the treasurer of
the state, out of money not otherwise appropriated, upon the
presentation of his account, after having been sworn to before
a justice of the peace, with a certificate of the county court of
Accomack attached.
2. All acts or parts of acts in conflict with this act, be, and
the same are hereby repealed.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
