Chap. 428.—An ACT to allow the trustees of Martha Wasnington
College to convey to the trustees of the Sinking Spring church the
property known as the Stonewall Jackson Institute.
Approved March 15, 1884.
Whereas the trustees of Martha Washington college have
for valuable consideration to them, agreed by contract in
writing to convcy to the trustees of the Sinking Spring church
the property now used and known as the Stonewall Jackson
institute, situate in the town of Abingdon, and desire to
convey the same to the purchasers; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
it shall be lawful tor the trustees of Martha Washington
college to convey the land situate in Abingdon, on the south
side and at the west end of Main street, and known as the
Stonewall Jackson institute property, by one or more deeds
to be executed by them. The deed or deeds shall be regarded
as executed by them when signed, sealed and delivered by
the president of the board of trustees as such, and the deed
or deeds s0 executed by them shall be valid and effectual in
law for the purpose therein set forth.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
