Chap. 420.—An ACT to amend an act entitled an act to incorporate
the Lee Monument Association, approved January twenty-fifth, eigh-
teen hundred and seventy-one, as amended by acts approved December
twenty-ninth, eighteen hundred and seventy-seven, and March third,
eighteen hundred and seventy-nine, by the addition of sections thereto.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the act approved January twenty-tifth, cightcen hundred and
seventy-one, entitled an act to incor porate the Lee Monument
Association, as amended by acts approved December twenty-
ninth, eighteen hundred and sev enty-seven, ahd March third,
eihteen” bundred and seventy-nine, be amended by the addi-
tion of the following sections:
§10. The said association shall have power whenever it
shall be so determined by a majority of the members who
may be present, ata meeting called by its presiding officer
after one month's notice, published in some newspaper issued
in the city of Richmond, stating the object of the call and
the time and place of the mecting, to unite or consolidate
with the Ladies Lee Monument Association, or any other asso-
ciation, corporate or unincorporated, having tor its object the
erection in the city of Richmond of a monument to General
Robert E. Lee, on such terms as may be agreed upon between
the associations thus uniting, not inconsistent with this act,
and upon the said union being effected, all officers, boards of
manavers, trustees and committe es of the said Lee monument
association shall forthwith be vacated, and the consolidated
society to be named the Lee Monument Association, shall
proceed to elect new officers, boards and committees, and all
funds and investments in the custody or control of the Lee
monument association, or any board or committee thereof,
shall be turned over to such officer or board of said consoli-
dated society as may by a resolution of such society be autho-
rized to receive and have charge of the same.
$11. Upon the completion of the consolidation provided
for in the preceding section, all powers, rights and privileges
eonterred on and accorded to the Lee monument Association,
as heretofore organized, shall be conterred on the new associ-
ation as organized under the said section, whether the sume
be conferred and accorded by the act incorporating the Lee
monument association, and the acts amendatory thereof, or
by any other acts concerning the said association at what-
ever time heretofore passed.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage, and all acts
and parts of acts inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed.
