Chap. 418.—An ACT to amend section four, chapter two hundred and
nine of Acts of Assembly, 1874, in relation to the jurisdiction of the
Corporation Courts of the cities of Munchester and Winchester.
Approved March 13, 1884.
1. Beit enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
section four of chapter two hundred and nine of the act ap-
proved April sixteenth, eighteen hundred and seventy-four,
entitled an act to establish corporation courts for the cities of
Manchester and Winchester, be amended and re-enacted so as
to read as follows:
§4. The said courts shall within the limits aforesaid have
the same jurisdiction as the circuit courts, and the same
jurisdiction as county courts, over all offences committed
within said limits, and alsosuch jurisdiction over such offences
as is conferred by gerieral law upon corporation courts. The
jurisdiction conferred by this section shall be exclusive of all
other courts, except that the county court of Chesterfield
county shall have concurrent jurisdiction with the corpora-
tion court of the city of Manchester as to all offences com-
mitted in Chesterfield county within one mile of the corpo-
rate limits of the city of Manchester.
2. This act shall be in force from its passave.
