Chap. 403.—An ACT to allow John F. Powell to erect a wharf at
Franklin City in Accomac county, on Chincoteague bay, for the pur-
pose of shipping oysters.
Approved March 13, 184,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
John F. Powell, of the county of Accomac, be and is hereby
authorized to erect a wharf at Franklin City, in Chincoteague
bay, in Accomac county, for the purpose of shipping oysters
to and from the same for himself and others; the said woart
to extend four hundred feet into said bay, from its point of
contact with the Worcester railroad’s limits. with a width
of sixty feet from said point of contact, to its terminus in
the aforesaid bay; and that the said John F. Powell, bis heirs
or assigns, shall have the right to charge such compensation
for the use of said wharf as may have been agreed upon, by
and between the partics, or as are usual: provided that the
said wharf shall not interfere with navigation: and provided
also, that this act shall at all times be under the control of
the general assembly, and may be amended or repealed as
may be deemed proper.
