Chap. 393.—An ACT to equalize the taxes for the support of Public
Free Schools in the Municipal School District of Bedford county.
Approved March 12, 1884.
Whereas the citizens of the municipal school district of
Bedford county, enjoying equal school privileges, are by the
operation of eXisting laws unequally taxed for the support ot
said schools; and whereas it is right and proper that those
who enjoy equal school privileges should be equally taxed,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the powers of the mayor and common council of the town of
Liberty, Bedford county, to assess, levy and collect taxes
within the corporate limits of said town of Liberty, for the
support of public free schools, be and are hereby extended
over all that territory now embraced in the boundaries of the
municipal school district of Bedford county, or that may
.ereafter by law be embraced in said municipal school dis-
rict.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage, and shall ap-
aly to taxes levied for the school year beginning the first day
f August, eighteen hundred and eighty-four, and for suc-
seeding years.
