1. Beit enacted by the gencral assembly of Virginia, That
M. V. Orner, William F. Baker, D. F. Kramer, C. Markley,
James A. McConnell, Paul Berkowitz, M. D. Forbes, T. O.
Rhodes, W. Q. Duncan, James G. Krupp, T. W. Miller, L.
Ridenbaugh, 8. G. Stevens, W. W. Anderson, J. 8. Campbell,
J. F. Bazzil, Charles McLaign, D. M. Ruggles, D. L. Scheff,
Joseph H. Briner, G. W. Tisler, C. F. Ray, W. H. Smith, E.
H. Funk, Demont Whitenack, Anthony F. Malone, E. R.
Haines, D. W. Espenlaub, and J. B. Isett, their associates and
successors, be and are hereby incorporated under the name
and style of Vigilant Steam Fire Company, number one, of
Roanoke city, and by that name may acquire and hold by
gift, devise or purchase, not exceeding one acre of land inthe
city of Roanoke, may contract and be contracted with, and
may make by-laws and regulations not inconsistent with the
laws of this state nor of the ordinances of Roanoke city.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
