Chap. 388.—JOINT RESOLUTION providing for burning unissued
bonds of the state, unissued and kept in the office of the treasurer of
the commonwealth.
Approved March 10, 1884.
1. Resolved by the senate (the house of delegates concur-
ring), That a committee consisting of two on the part of the
senate, and three on the part of the house of delegates shall
be appointed, who shall, in the presence of the governor of
the commonwealth, and the treasurer of the commonwealth,
caused to be destr oyed by burning, all coupons and registered
bonds of the state, printed under acts of the general assembly,
of thirteenth March, eighteen hundred and seventy-nine, now
unissued and remaining in the treasurer's office, with the ex-
ception of funded re wistered consol bonds, under act of thir-
teenth March, eighteen hundred and seventy-one, to the
amount of six hundred and sixty-eight thousand seven hun-
dred dollars, reserved for exchange for consol coupon bonds
held by the several schools and colleges. <A list of bonds so
destroyed, and a list of bonds so excepted and reserved, shall
be preserved in the offices of the second auditor and of the
treasurer of the commonwealth.
2. This joint resolution shall take effect from its passage.
